The objective of the audit is to help ensure that organisations meet the relevant health and safety legislation, along with applicable regulations, standards and codes of practice, minimising the risk of fines or legal penalties. Outcomes of the audit can identify an opportunity to enhance the organisations Safety Management System to ensure they remain compliant.

  • The Psychosocial Hazards Desktop Audit criteria is designed to meet current WHS legislative requirements in the Management of Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace. The objective of the audit is to help ensure that organisations are meeting these requirements and related regulations on managing psychosocial risks. The Orgwell Group comprehensive audit is accompanied with a detailed audit findings implementation plan to assist organisations in meeting the WHS legislative requirements.

  • The Emergency Preparedness and Response / Fire and Evacuation Audit is designed to meet current legislative requirements, including compliance with current applicable Regulations and Acts. The objective of the audit is to ensure organisations have effective fire safety management plans, appropriate fire safety installations and clear evacuation procedures in place to protect occupants and minimise risks during emergencies.

  • The Food Safety Audit is conducted as an in-depth examination of the workplace to determine the status of food safety performance in relation to the current legislative requirements, and  relevant Australian food safety standard.

  • The Corporate Risk Assessment audit conducted is to identify and evaluate potential safety risks within an organisation, ensuring effective risk management strategies, robust internal controls, and clear processes are in place to safeguard people and assets, support informed decision-making, and minimize exposure to financial, operational and reputational risks. Scenarios when business may conduct a Corporate Risk Assessment Audit occurs when acquiring business, new management, post incident investigation and organisational changes.

WHS Plans

  • The Emergency Management Plan (EMP) is implemented to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all workers, visitors, and other persons who may be affected by a workplace emergency. The plan outlines structured procedures for responding to various emergencies such as fire, chemical spills, natural disasters, medical incidents and acts of violence. Having a clear and tested EMP minimises the risk of injury, property damage, operational disruption and legal liability. It also ensures that workers understand their roles and responsibilities during an emergency, promoting a swift, coordinated and compliant response.

Under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must ensure that an emergency plan is prepared for the workplace. This includes procedures for effectively responding to emergencies, providing emergency procedures and information to workers, and ensuring the plan is tested and maintained. Compliance with this legislative requirement demonstrates the business’s commitment to its duty of care under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and supports legal and regulatory obligations in maintaining a safe working environment.

  • The Traffic Management Plan (TMP) is implemented to effectively control the movement of vehicles and pedestrians within and around the workplace, thereby reducing the risk of incidents such as collisions, injuries and property damage. A well-designed TMP outlines safe traffic flow patterns, designated walkways, loading and unloading procedures, signage, speed limits, and separation of vehicles and pedestrians. This not only protects workers and visitors but also ensures the efficiency of operations and compliance with safety obligations.

Under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) has a duty to manage the risks associated with vehicle movement in the workplace, particularly in areas where pedestrians and vehicles interact. A TMP is a critical component of meeting legislative requirements and demonstrates a business’s proactive approach to ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.

  • The Sexual Harassment and Sex and Gender-Based Harassment Prevention Plan is in place to ensure a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace. This plan outlines how the business will prevent, identify, respond to, and manage the risks associated with sexual harassment and sex or gender-based harassment.

Under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), specifically Subdivision 3, Sections 55E to 55G, a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must manage the risks to health and safety arising from sexual harassment or sex or gender-based harassment at work. Where a risk has been identified, the PCBU must prepare a Prevention Plan to eliminate or minimise the risk, as part of their broader duty under Section 19 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers and others. Having a clear, compliant Prevention Plan is essential for meeting these legal obligations and fostering a safe and inclusive workplace culture.

  • A Work Health and Safety Management Plan (WHSMP) is in place to systematically identify, assess, and control risks to health and safety in the workplace. The WHSMP provides a structured approach to managing safety responsibilities, ensuring that hazards are controlled, roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, training and supervision are provided and incidents are properly reported and investigated. It supports a proactive safety culture and helps the business meet its legal obligations, reduce the likelihood of incidents, and improve overall operational efficiency.

Under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), all persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers and others. A WHSMP is a key tool for fulfilling this duty, ensuring risks are managed systematically and in accordance with legislative requirements.
